Travis is a 7 year old, male border collie. He is a typical border collie who displays all the usual drives you would expect!
Travis was adopted from us 5 years ago but returned fairly recently as his owner wanted a smaller dog. Upon arrived he was very overweight and has been on a weight reduction diet plus exercise and is doing rather well.
He was very reactive to traffic and would lunge at passing cars. However, he is in foster with one of our Senior Volunteers, Anna, and she has utilised a positive reinforcement approach with his training and he is doing incredibly well. This technique is very simple and will be demonstrated to potential adopters. It is necessary that this training, in particular, is continued to keep him safe when near roads.
He is currently living with two other dogs (one male, one female) and joins our group walks each Wednesday. He would live quite happily as an only dog or he could live with another.
Travis is microchipped, treated for parasites, assessed, neutered and available for visitors.
His adoption fee is £400 which goes directly to saving the lives of dogs just like him.
