Approx Age: 11-12
Oh me oh my - get your hankies!!
So Ralphie is a Romanian gentleman who has been with us for around 4-6 weeks. He is approximately 11-12 years old (which is a total guess).
Ralphie lived his entire life outside and attached to a chain. His owner treated him dreadfully - often starving him and physically abusing him. The only good thing in Ralphie's favour was that the neighbour felt sorry for him and would throw him scraps of food to help him survive.
Unfortunately, his owners house burnt down and the owner perished in the fire. Luckily for Ralphie though, the fire did not reach the cold corner of the garden where he was kept so Ralphie was safe. The neighbour then stepped in and found a rescue to take Ralphie on.
There is a wonderful group on Facebook called Helping Little Paws in Need which is run by a lovely lady called Catherine. It is her mission to raise funds to help as many animals as she can. We have worked closely with Catherine before so when she told Lorraine about Ralphie and asked "could you please?" the answer was of course "yes!"
Ralphie was fostered and prepped for travel. This took a few months and after a lengthy and stressful journey he arrived here. He was terrified.
It took over two weeks to gain enough trust for him to accept a human touch and another week before he could tolerate having a lead attached. However, since then he has BLOSSOMED!!
He now takes part in the group walks and we are sure he cannot believe that after more than a decade chained up there is good life to be had.
Ralphie needs his own human(s) who will love him unconditionally and give him the best of times every day for the rest of his life. We know he could be 11-12 years old but my goodness what an honour it would be to see him love life for the next few years.
He is neutered, vaccinated, treated for parasites, assessed and will shortly be veterinary checked. He has a much reduced adoption fee which can be discussed with any potential owners.
If you would like to consider Ralphie as an addition to your family please complete the adoption application form.
