Approx Age: 6 months
We often work with a rescue in Macedonia and have successfully rehomed some beautiful dogs from there. They are currently inundated with pups and we are hoping to offer some of them rescue spaces.
At the moment, we are gauging interest before we bring any of these dogs to rescue. If you are interested please message us via our Contact Us page on this website.
Most of these dogs are Sarplaninac shepherd dogs and crosses. They are classed as giant breeds with average weights of around 45 kg (7.5 stones) and heights at the shoulder of around 60cm. They are a calm, loyal, dignified breed with a very protective nature. Whilst they can be very affectionate with their family they can be untrusting of strangers. They possess a double coat which needs regular grooming. Their ears also need attention to ensure they do not accumulate hair and debris. Regular exercise is paramount to their wellbeing.
The perfect home would be with a family who have large breed experience. They should have a large home with direct access to a secure garden. Children could be considered but should be dog savvy and over the age of 10. A busy household, with lots of visitors, would not be the right home for one of these dogs. Owners should be committed to regular exercise, grooming and training.
