Joy

My story is quite simple.

I got to the age where I wanted to give something back to the universe.  I had no intention of adopting only working at the rescue and helping where I could.

I had decided I had had enough of people and wanted to work with doggies so I approached Islay and have been there for 3 years come Valentine’s Day.

While I’m there I help with everything – cleaning kennels, doing laundry, feeding, walking.  Normally I’m there for around 4 hours as I go after my job which is a nightshift position.

My favourite dog can only be Elspeth… She is a big Mioritic Sheepdog who came to Islay from Romania.  She saw the mug written on my head so 2.5 yrs on she runs our house!!

Not everybody was supportive when I said I was going to volunteer.  Many of my friends told me not to go saying “Oooh don’t work there too much sadness “ but in truth we laugh all day long there and have a great time.  Plus, my thought being turn doggy sad past lives into positive futures and watch them change., grow and thrive is a dream.

My priority is trying to bring happiness into whatever doggies lives I can.  Dogs come first, people a sluggish 2nd.
